Meredith is a third generation artist following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother. She is an alumna of Albright College where she earned a BA in digital studio art and photography. As a South Jersey native and lifelong animal lover, Meredith’s work is greatly influenced by the intricacies of nearby beaches, marshes, forests, and wildlife. Photography is ultimately the driving force behind her advocacy and admiration for nature and wildlife.
She frequently submits photos to be shown at galleries in the area and uses her Instagram page as a means to share her endeavors and educate followers about nature through her photos. When she isn’t behind the camera, you can find her working for New Jersey Fish & Wildlife, coaching the Egg Harbor Township High School women's rowing team, cleaning up trash on the beach, or searching for plants and animals in her travels.
Meredith credits her innate love of art to her Mom, Lindsay, and her grandmother, Sally Roik.
Artist Statement: I live and breathe noticing nature. It never fails to gain my undivided attention and enthusiasm. I am passionate about documenting the intricacies of our environment, especially as it is continually harmed due to habitat loss, human disturbance, and extensive littering. When i’m behind the camera, I notice the smallest details of our beaches, bays, and marshes and become very analytical about what I'm photographing: The shapes, textures, patterns, and colors that Earth so expertly creates — abstract and yet somehow completely perfect — and the elaborate lives of wildlife that often go unnoticed. Photographing the brilliance and complexity of the natural world, especially on a local level, is like making a portrait of someone that I love.
